About Sunjiv Raval

Sunjiv Raval is a Calgary community leader and first-time federal candidate representing the Liberal Party in Calgary Midnapore. He has been deeply involved in local volunteer work – for over a decade he served with the Gujarati Mandal of Calgary, helping new immigrants find employment and even opening his home to those in need (Mr. Sunjiv M. Raval | The Governor General of Canada).

In 2020, Raval’s community service earned him the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers from the Governor General, recognizing his contributions to immigrant support and cultural initiatives (Mr. Sunjiv M. Raval | The Governor General of Canada). Professionally, he has over 20 years of experience in business (retail and international trade) and has worked in Alberta’s public sector (according to local sources), giving him insight into economic and administrative issues. Raval is described by the Liberal Party as a “devoted community leader” with a “deep passion and determination to make life better for families in Calgary Midnapore” (Sunjiv Raval). His roots in the community and volunteer background form a key part of his campaign narrative as he positions himself as a fresh, local voice for the riding.
